Michael “Mike” Akhbari directs the DLA JETS 2.0 contract, bringing more than 20 years of experience in federal contracting, defense operations, and business development. He leads with a focus on disciplined execution, mission-driven results, and customer partnership, ensuring the vehicle delivers innovative, cost-effective solutions that advance the Defense Logistics Agency’s mission.
As Senior Director, Mike is responsible for contract performance, customer engagement, and strategic growth, aligning operational delivery with the objectives of DLA JETS 2.0. His leadership emphasizes agility, accountability, and measurable impact across diverse teams and portfolios.
Before assuming his current role, Mike served in senior leadership positions overseeing multimillion-dollar programs and large-scale organizations across the Department of Defense and federal civilian agencies. His past responsibilities included profit-and-loss management for portfolios exceeding $80M annually, leading more than 400 personnel, and delivering enterprise IT, acquisition, logistics, and analytics solutions. Earlier in his career, he advanced through positions of increasing responsibility, from corporate pricing analyst to executive leadership, consistently driving growth and operational excellence.
Mike holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Denison University and is a graduate of the Wharton School’s Executive Development Program. He is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
