Vice President - VA WiFi Operations

Don James joined our company in May of 2012 to manage the VA WiFi program and is now responsible for VA Enterprise, Activations and Enterprise Guest. He previously managed the VA WiFi program for General Dynamics IT. The VA WiFi program has deployed more than 386,000 APs to cover almost 372 million sq ft of VA space at 1,962 VA facilities. Don has over 35 years of experience with technically challenging IT and management assignments. His experience began conducting weapons system testing for ballistic missile submarines, progressed through managing internal IT support services, data center relocations, managing the deployment of network and system upgrades at multiple Government facilities and was the manager and technical lead for the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) HQ Relocation Project which entailed deploying the largest Cisco VoIP implementation in the world at the time and the move of 4000 employees from Crystal City to the Washington Navy Yard. This was followed by managing the relocation of National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA), National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service (NESDIS) satellite operations to the new NOAA Satellite Operations Facility (NSOF) followed by the design, build-out and operation of a Corrections Surveillance Center for the DC Department of Corrections.
