TekSynap hosts two annual holiday giving efforts at the Lacombe-Mandeville Head Start School and at Rainbow Child Care, both of which serve families facing significant financial hardship. Head Start is a program serving preschool children ages three to five from low-income families, focused on preparing children for success in school through early learning and developmental support. Rainbow Child Care is the only nonprofit childcare center in St. Tammany Parish, dedicated to strengthening working families by providing high-quality, affordable childcare through sliding-scale tuition for low-income families and families in crisis.
The first event takes place ahead of colder weather, when TekSynap distributes winter coats to children at both the Head Start school and Rainbow Child Care. In 2025, TekSynap provided 94 winter coats, helping ensure children have the warmth they need during the coldest months of the year. The second event is TekSynap’s Santa’s Workshop, hosted separately at the Head Start school and at Rainbow Child Care in December. For each Workshop, TekSynap sets up a toy store where children are invited to browse and select a toy of their own for Christmas. In 2025, Santa’s Workshop provided well over 100 toys across both locations, ensuring children received a meaningful holiday gift during the Christmas season.
As Michele Daigle, Senior Director, explains,
“Santa’s Workshop goes beyond simply giving toys. It allows each child to choose a gift of their own and experience the holiday season in a way every child deserves.”
Together, these efforts reflect TekSynap’s ongoing commitment to supporting children and families in need and creating meaningful holiday experiences rooted in care, dignity, and community.
